Of these ten films, which involved crime or violence?

At least eight (I DEFINITELY did not see Cars 2 or The Smurfs).

So, as shown in the book, the media are fascinated with crime and violence, and they use it to rake in a ton of money.

Yes, the fault is also ours, since we like it so much. The good news? We get more of what we seem to like, IN THE REAL WORLD!

If it's good enough for Jesus, it's good enough for me!

  1. The fascination people have of crime is certainly interesting. It makes one wonder whether the media feeds society violence, and therefore we like it, or if society demands it and the media then give it? Since people, and the media, enjoy things that are abnormal, crime fits the bill. Furthermore, it seems that people enjoy watching crime on TV because they get to experience a sense of justice when the perpetrator is captured and made to pay for what they have done. Whatever the reason, we know the media uses what is tried and true and what will sell. In the end, crime and violence does just that.
