It keeps us afraid, which keeps us at home, which keeps us watching TV, which raises ratings and keeps getting us exposed to commercial ads, which produces profit for media companies.

  1. I completely agree with you here. It is ridiculous that the media shows so much of this random violence - when it is so infrequent and fortuitous. The media is like an oppressive organization which keeps perpetuating propaganda frames which do not represent reality - and influence their viewers in negative ways. Aka. they keep us on our butts watching tv.
