When idiots determine the news

This is what we get.

On the front page of CNN.com no less:

It remains red meat for some critics of President Obama. But a CNN investigation confirms what most analysts have said since the "birther" controversy erupted in 2008: Obama was born in Hawaii. CNN's Gary Tuchman reports. FULL STORY

It is shocking that a group of conspiracy theorists who are a small minority of the population and who exist on the fringe, have driven this story to the front of a national news organization.

Shows you what money and power can do, because the "birthers" are not just made up of crazy right-wingers but also consist of some very powerful monied interests. Watch the film "The Billionaire's Tea Party" and you'll understand what I mean.

  1. Just the other day I was having a political debate with some friends and someone yelled out "F*** Obama! he isn't even a real American, he wasn't even born here!" It's shameful that comments like this are expressed due to 'idiots' who determine the news. It’s also embarrassing that comments like this are heard almost every single day due to a small minority group of people purposefully making these simply untrue remarks to spark conflict. HELLO---Obama is the PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES, you don’t think people did their homework on where he was born BEFORE he was elected, or even nominated, ummmm I certainly think they did.

  2. I think the whole conspiracy theory on Obama and his birth right to be a president is ridiculous. Obviously Obama was born a U.S. citizen and it is completely absurd for people to try and stir up trouble on that basis alone. I think it basically started when people heard Obama was of Muslim religion instead of Christian. As a nation founded on Christianity or so Christians believe, that was the biggest problem with Obama running for Presidency! However, lets not forget that in a speech Obama made he states, "Jesus Christ dying for my sins spoke to the humility we all have to have as human beings -- that we're sinful and we're flawed and we make mistakes and that we achieve salvation through the grace of God. But what we can do, as flawed as we are, is still see God in other people and do our best to help them find their own grace. And so that's what I strive to do. That's what I pray to do every day. I think my public service is part of that effort to express my Christian faith..." and "I'm also somebody who deeply believes that part of the bedrock strength of this country is that it embraces people of many faiths and of no faith," he said. "This is a country that is still predominantly Christian. But we have Jews, Muslims, Hindus, atheists, agnostics, Buddhists and that their own path to grace is one that we have to revere and respect as much as our own."
Not to mention the fact that he is Half African American and his wife is African American. Many of the U.S. population ignorant and unwilling to accept change in a new time is why all this mess is being stirred up! In addition, this crap has been allowed by the people who control FOX news because they are the ones feeding this junk to the public through the media and common people's ignornace. The senior analyst for CNN basically says that no matter what Obama tries to do to convince people of his orginal birth in Hawaii, it wont change the mindset of the 25% of americans who dont believe he is a citizen. Even if the president filed for a freedom of information act to have the health department release his birth certificate to the public from the vault in Hawaii, Jeffery Toobin senior legal analyst still doesnt think it will help. Jeffrey Toobin states, "Most of the people who are pushing this birther issue are out of their minds, and the fact that president Obama addresses the conspiracy theory will only add to the conspiracy theory, this is an impossible problem to address because the people who are pushing it are either bigots, or insane, or like Donald Trump and just using it for political adavntage..." I for one wish people would get off his back and realize that one president in a four year term can not fix the last century of mess ups by previous presidents. I dont care if you're a democrat or a republican no one man can undo time and start over, especially with the poor leadership and influences we have been dealing with in the past election terms.

  3. This just goes to show what a large sum of money and some very guilible can get you. There are always people that do not agree with the president but this group has taken it to a whole new level. That have forced the idea that Obama is not an American citizen, which is crazy because if he wasn't it would definitely be known before now. Several of these people, as shown in the video, have some extremists ideas about the president. These people are simply being misled by a little bit of air time the party makes within the media. I think one of the big problems with this is that the people that are following this party and are so deadset on these beliefs are getting all of their information from FOX news and no other news source. Now the news isnt always factual but FOX news has had quite a bit of controversy over the years with being bias. This causes quite a bit of problems because they are more likely to report on stories that would favor the right-wingers and not dispute them.

  4. That video was very interesting to say the least. There is never going to be a time when we have a president that EVERYBODY loves, or even likes. There are going to be extremists that have their reasons for backing up what they believe. I think that it is ridiculous (especially the woman around the 1:25 mark) people consider Obama racist and against anyone who is white ..even though he is 1/2 white himself. Its hard for me to understand where tea party members get their opinions from because they don't make any sense to me. The fact that all they watch is FOX News and no other news source makes them less credible. They don't even look at other view points because they are so stuck in their own. If Obama was born outside of the U.S. he would not be allowed to be President, plain and simple.
