And there are pictures!
Which is why it is national news.
So instead of a serious discussion of DUI, why people do it, how much it happens, how many get injured or killed from it, and what we can do to stop it, we get this kind of report.

haha, I have seen this on the news about 100 times now. The media is claiming that her life is spiraling out of control and she needs help. The news coverage even showed up to the police department where she was processed, not the mention after she had already been released. So, we get a shot of the police department and a glimpse of her mug shot. Since she forgot the lyrics of the national anthem as well it only adds to the media coverage of a diva out of control. Really? Does this really matter? How many times does a celebrity get in trouble and it make national news? The answer is all the time. It is troublesome to see this when there is real lives spiraling out of control, not because of money and fame but because of real life issues. The more coverage the media gives of these types of occurrences the less real news the public sees. It has to stop. Stop giving these celebrities the ability to be seen in heard over nonsense.
ReplyDeleteThe thing that really gets me about this story is the number of excuses provided for her! These stories are getting really old and are not entertaining in the least, much less informative. Well, maybe if you wanted to know her BMI! I know people in the press have to have jobs and something to report about, but this seems a bit too desperate. Her crime was a misdemeanor. This isn’t that incredible. If that had happened to a normal citizen, it might have had a chance at being placed in the arrest report in the local paper, but probably not. The same thing goes for gossip magazines. The same stories have been told about all of the celebrities now. They just cycle through them every so often for someone they have not talked about in a while. How can something so unimportant be considered “news?” It isn’t “news” to me that celebrities have “uh-oh” moments just like everyone else.
ReplyDeleteLINDSAY LOHAN!!! How many times have you seen her go through the CJ system and how many times have they gave her a slap on the wrist and released back to the wild. That'll teach her. YEA RIGHT!!! Or Barry Bonds lying to the supreme court, anyone else do that and they will put them under the jail. Infotainment. The media loves celebrity crimes because it shows that people we addore and look up to are no better than anyone else. It has the shock affect, "my daughter loves Miley Cyrus" Ooooopss shes a pot head and she strips a and my daughter watches all her shows and her music... Thanks
