  1. The article reporting on the man convicted of killing Chandra Levy illustrates narratives used in the media. The man convicted of killing Chandra was named Ingmar Guandique. He was sentenced to sixty years in prison for her murder. The media uses a picture of Guandique wearing orange inmate clothing being escorted by people. He was portrayed as the innately evil predatory criminal. The article clearly calls him a "dangerous predator". They stated in the article that his actions were "something different and worse" than other murders that occurred in that state. Chandra was portrayed as the naive innocent victim that wasn't to blame for her death. The article describes how her body was found and her family's heartbroken reaction to her death.
