Stories like this are hard to read. Especially statements such as "authorities had information indicating that Hasan, a Muslim born in the United States to immigrant parents, was a threat before the November 5, 2009, shootings" and "Although neither DoD (the Department of Defense) nor the FBI had specific information concerning the time, place or nature of the attack, they collectively had sufficient information to have detected Hasan's radicalization to violent Islamist extremism but failed both to understand and to act on it". I understand that no one wants to be 'racist' or jump to conclusions when it comes to labeling another individual, but there was sufficient evidence to foresee a VIOLENT attack. He killed THIRTEEN individuals. In my opinion, it doesn’t matter that there were not specific information concerning the time, place or nature of the attack. What matters is that even his colleagues referred to him as a “ticking time bomb”. The most shocking part of the entire article was the following statement: “Intelligence agencies learned that Hasan had contacts with an Islamist sympathetic to al Qaeda and relayed the information to law enforcement, but no action was taken” No action was taken on a man who had been labeled, prior to killing 13 individuals, a violent Islamist! Meanwhile I had a knock on my apartment door last Sunday by two North Carolina State Troopers asking me to move my car immediately because it was parked over the line IN MY PARKING LOT! (I would also like to note being woken up at 8am on a Sunday to two state troopers knocking on my door was not only frightening but given the matter it was rude and unnecessary)

ReplyDeleteI'm sure the Army ignored this for the sake of "diversity" or out of fear of being attacked by the PC mob.
