  1. The title of the blog " Crime all over the local news" fits perfectly with how the media are organized. Crime usually appears through news media. According to the Center for Media and Public Affairs, crime accounts for approximately 30% of local news so it doesn't surprise me at all that 6 out of 7 of the top stories revolve around crime.(Robinson, 2011 p.8) Media focuses on crime because it makes them money. Many question who determines what news becomes "big news" to be delivered to people through media as oppose to other news? It is said that the inner ring determines what becomes big news based on the interest of the inner ring.
