Today, don't forget what Glenn Beck said about Dr. King

Today is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. And you likely have the day off of work because of this national holiday.

While you are doing whatever you are doing today, don't forget what Glenn Beck said about people like Dr. King.

After all, he was a social justice Christian. And Beck asked you to get up and run from him. Because social justice is "code language for Marxism."

Now, you might just say you don't care because Glen Beck is "crazy." After all, this is the guy who said President Obama is racist against whites (even though Obama is half-white and was raised by his white half!).

But that would be problematic for two reasons:

First, Glenn Beck is a major media figure, and a very powerful man.

And second, Glenn Beck gave a national speech last year in Washington DC at the Lincoln Memorial not far from where Dr. King gave his famous "I Have a Dream" speech.

"How could Beck give a speech honoring one of the greatest spokespersons for social justice (Dr. King) while simultaneously saying social justice is code language for Marxism? That is, how could he both honor a spokesperson for social justice and then tell you, ""when you see those words [social justice], run."???

In my humble opinion , this is the clearest evidence that Glenn Beck does not know what the hell he is talking about.

Yet, he maintains a very popular radio and TV show in the mainstream media in spite of it.

Dr. King must be shaking his head, even in heaven.

  1. I do not follow fox news very often, but from what I have heard about it coincides with this story from Glenn Beck. It seems that the media will put anything on the news to direct attention to their station. Regardless if it makes sense or not. This post reminded of Friday's class about the government official being fired for "racist" comments, even though the media did not have the full story.

  2. Yes, the racist issue was a widespread failure by the media. Fox News is a different story. It is a network clearly aimed at spreading a particular viewpoint, even when that viewpoint is completely discredited or nonsensical (as in the case with running from social justice and then honoring a major social justice figure).
